How to place a trade on an international stock market

Trading in stocks on international markets with NatWest Stockbrokers uses the same simple process as trading in UK stocks.

  • Login to your account
  • ‘Place a trade’
  • ‘Select Market’ – and choose your market from the dropdown list
  • Follow the onscreen instructions as you would if trading in UK equities

Advantages of International Trading

  • Extend your trading day beyond UK market hours
  • Develop a geographically diversified portfolio and benefit from countries at different stages of their economic life cycles
  • No stamp duty on North American and European markets

Risks of International Trading

Foreign markets will involve different risks from UK markets. In some cases risks will be greater. The potential for profit or loss from transactions on foreign markets or in foreign currency denominated markets will be affected by fluctuations in foreign exchange rates.
